Travelling to Campus and Parking

Train

As we approach the start of a new academic year, here’s a reminder of the options for travelling to campus and arrangements for parking.

It’s important to plan how you’ll get to university for the first time and how you’ll commute once you’re studying here. All of our campuses are well served by public transport and within walking distance from a transport hub.

Parking

Parking is very limited on all campuses, particularly at the beginning of the autumn term. Consider alternatives to driving where possible or find car shares via the UniLife MarketPlace.

Treforest & Glyntaff

Student parking is available at Treforest and both upper and lower Glyntaff. An automatic number plate recognition system is used so you don’t need to take a ticket to enter or exit the car parks.

Daily users of the student and visitor car parks pay £1 for up to 5 hours or £2 for 5+ hours. Pay using the Glide App or the ticket machine. Alternatively, a parking permit can be purchased from the online store.

Cardiff & Newport

Off-campus parking is available at Cardiff and Newport.

USW Sport Park

There are a limited number of car parking spaces available at the USW Sport Park. The cost of parking is £1 for up to 5 hours or £2 for 5+ hours, with the first 30 minutes free of charge for dropping off or collecting.

Parking at USW Sport Park is ticketless. Payments can be made via the Glide app or at the pay station outside the main reception.

Students with Disabilities

Parking is available for students with disabilities at all campuses.
