The University of South Wales staff and student community is characterised by our values. They define the qualities most important to us and provide guidance for all that we do in order to enrich our teaching and learning environment.
Be accountable for the standards of your own behaviour, valuing and respecting every individual you engage with.
Be inspiring to others through adopting the attitudes and behaviours associated with being a good human being.
Be willing to embrace new ideas and to challenge common practice to improve the environment we live and work in.
Be accepting of differences - promoting equality, diversity and inclusion - and constructively challenging those who are not so that a positive sense of community can be built.
Be open to working with the wider USW Family, bringing together ideas so that we can achieve personal and community objectives.
These values are supported by the Student Charter, which is developed jointly by the University and Students' Union and explains the University's commitment to working in partnership with you to provide a high-quality student experience that helps you to achieve personal and academic success.
We encourage all our students to read the Student Charter before arriving so that you can understand what you can expect of the University, and what is expected of you during your studies so that you can make the most of your time with us.
Whether you are living in University-owned halls of residence, private accommodation or local housing, everyone has a responsibility to be considerate members of their local community. We want you to enjoy your time with us at USW, however you need to be mindful that your neighbours and people around you will have different lifestyles.
