Advanced Threat Protection against phishing emails

On Wednesday 6th May, USW IT Services will enable Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) on all Student email inboxes. This will give our students additional protection against phishing and malicious emails.

There are two changes in behaviour you might see because of this. Firstly, when you receive an email with an attachment it will initially show as "ATP Scan in Progress".

Once the scan has completed, usually within two minutes, the attachment will change to its correct name. Secondly, emails containing URLs will have the URL replaced with one starting with "". These links are safe to click on as they have been scanned by the ATP software.

If you have any queries or experience any problems following the ATP implementation, please contact IT Support.
