It's important you check your USW email account regularly as it is the primary official communications tool the University will use to contact you.
Your email address is simply your student number followed by @students.southwales.ac.uk, for example, email@example.com.
The link 'Your Mail' on the UniLife homepage takes you to your inbox. You can also set up your computer or mobile device to access your student email account using the email application of your choice, see Using your email.
Your student email address is supplied by Microsoft Office 365 and is part of a suite of web-based applications which also gives you access to Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneDrive, which can be useful for online storage, word processing and several other things. If you have trouble logging into UniLife or accessing your student email account you can reset your password by visiting Self-service Account Administration (SSAA). As a security measure, your password will expire automatically every 120 days, when you will need to use the same link to update it.
If you continue to experience problems with your username or password, you will need to contact IT Support.
Please note, if you are a returning student, your student email account has now moved from Gmail to Microsoft Outlook.
