It’s during these weeks that it’s especially important to look out for your friends, old and new, and make sure they know you’re there for them.
The Students’ Union is hosting a range of events across all campuses as part of the ‘Look After Your Mate’ campaign running from the 10th-25th October, which aims to promote students talking to their friends about mental health and reducing the stigma surrounding it.
So, bring a friend and have a chat over a brew at our ‘Coffee date with a mate’ event with free tea and coffee. Break the stigma around mental health and write a note of positivity and let others know they're not alone as part of our ‘Can your mate relate?’ event or even grab a mate and pet a pooch at our popular Pet a Pooch events on all campuses.
Free Student Minds ‘Look After Your Mate’ workshops will also be run by USW Wellbeing on all campuses which will equip you with the skills to help a friend in need whilst also looking after yourself. Information about the workshops and how to sign up will be available at every event.
Let’s end mental health discrimination - start a conversation with a friend!
