Speaking Together is a creative workshop which partners women who are seeking sanctuary in Wales with locally based women. The project brings people together from different backgrounds, to promote friendship, understanding and integration. In this presentation, Creative Writing Lecturer and Researcher, Barrie Llewelyn will talk about the warmth, camaraderie and rapport that emerged during the project and introduces a short film in which some of the participants take part in a typical Speaking Together meeting. Afterwards, Barrie will be joined by USW’s refugee champion Dr Mike Chick to answer your questions about how such initiatives offer transformative learning opportunities for all involved.
This event is part of Refugee Week; series of virtual events from USW highlighting the experience and contribution of refugees in Wales.
