Survey: video use in teaching

October 29, 2018

The Centre for Enhancement of Learning and Teaching is running a research project about lecture recordings and the use of video for teaching, learning and assessment.

As part of this project they want to know what you, the students, feel about these things so they’re running a survey. The survey won’t take long to complete and your results are invaluable for helping the Uni plan how we should support and encourage the creation of videos for different aspects of learning.

The system we currently use is called Panopto. Panopto is a video management, lecture recording, and livecasting software service. It has many possible uses including:

• Recording lectures for later use by students.
• Live broadcast of lectures (to students or external to university).
• Upload and management of video/audio resources for use in teaching and learning.
• Submission of video/audio assessments.

Whether your lecturers have used Panopto or any other system to provide you with lecture recordings or any other types of videos/audio recordings we want to know your thoughts and ideas about these things so if you’ve got 10 minutes to spare please let us know your thoughts and experiences through the survey.
