Act of Remembrance to mark the 100th Anniversary of the First Armistice

November 6, 2018

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month falls on Sunday this year. People throughout the country will be observing two minutes silence during the Remembrance Services in our local communities.

To recognise and honour the former students of this University who have lost their lives in war, we will be holding a formal Act of Remembrance to mark the 100th Anniversary of the First Armistice on Friday 9th November.

The service will take place at the Meeting House at 10:00am followed by the placing of poppy wreaths at the following locations:

Memorial plaque, Ty Crawshay, Treforest Campus – 10:50am
Memorial plinth, Aneurin Bevan Building, Glyntaff Campus – 11:45am
Newport City Campus – 2:00pm
The Street, Cardiff Campus – 3:30pm

We welcome anyone who would like to join us at any of these ceremonies.
