Talk about Mental Health – Time to Talk Day

February 1, 2018

Time to Talk Day on the 1st of February, is a chance for all of us to be more open about mental health – to talk, to listen, to change lives

Don’t be afraid to talk about mental health. Mental health problems are common and one in four of us will be affected at some point in our lives. So being able to talk about mental health is something that’s important for us all.

The fact that it’s sometimes difficult to talk about mental health problems can be one of the hardest parts of having a mental illness. Whether it’s fear or awkwardness about talking to someone you know about their mental health problem – or talking about our own mental health problem, being unable to talk about mental health isn’t good for anyone.

Wherever you are – at home, at work or on the top of a mountain – have your conversation about mental health today!

Support for students who are experiencing mental or emotional distress is also available from the University’s Mental Health Service.
