Thieves targeting Cardiff

February 22, 2012

Pub and club-goers are being urged to be aware of thieves who are targeting Cardiff city centre stealing mobile phones, passports and handbags.

Police have had a number of incidents reported where people have had items stolen after leaving coats or handbags unattended.

PC Geraint White of the City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said: “Cardiff is a safe place for a great night out but there are still people who, given the opportunity, will steal mobile phones and handbags.”

“Our advice is to keep your mobile phone and identification with you at all times.”

Anyone with information about individuals involved in the sale of stolen mobile phones is asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
