There are two schemes allowing students to register their cars and/or bicycles with the University.

For bicycles, the main objective is protection against theft – and making it easier for the police to return your bike to you if you are unlucky enough to become a victim of theft. As there have been bike thefts reported to police around our campuses recently, the University would like to encourage students to utilise the Student Bicycle Registration Scheme.

For cars, the objective is to enable the University or local authorities to contact you if there is a problem. For example, if your headlights are left on, or your car is causing an obstruction and about to be towed. The University would like to encourage students to use the Student Vehicle Registration Scheme, as it could prevent unnecessary hassle.
